Overview

Cairo, what an adventure, long drive aside

As other reviews have mentioned, the bus ride is a long trip to Cairo around 9-10 hours bring food and tissue-paper! I advise getting a visa from the airport before your journey for $25 or equivalent. Our guide Will, was superb from start to finish making sure our party wouldn't get ripped off or else. The museum was excellent , with us being given free time to explore after the guided tour by Will. The Nile boat ride and lunch followed this, which was a fun experience (drinks are not free) After a quick stop to a fragrances oil shop* (learn to say no! ) we headed to the pyramids and Sphinx which accompanied by our guide were an amazing experience to see and get to ride the camels for around $10 extra - photograph tips excluded. Lastly we headed to a Papyrus museum aka tourist trap to end our trip while awaiting pickup. *These oil places are common tourist traps on trips on here for some reason, if you are to buy from one of these I have found Dahab has cheaper prices as I was dragged into a similar shop on another trip.

Terrible Journey, good tour, needs efficiencies

Minibus picks you up from your hotel but also picks up others at midnight. Takes you to old market for coach. Police leads your coach and others via convoy to Cairo. Lots of delays and waiting around with no updates provided. Journey to Cairo is 8-9 hours each way. The coach does not have allocated seats, this would help. Allocated seats should be for any time on the coach. The English speaking tour guide Gamal was brilliant. Very informative. Museum was good but very busy at entrance. No lines at entrance, everyone bundles in. Pyramid queues were similar but fantastic experience when inside. Gamal advised us that nothing is free when inside the pyramid area, the people inside will ask for money for taking photos etc. The River Nile was a gentle ride. This shouldn't cost more than £15. We had buffet food that was very good. We were taken to a perfume and pyrabas shop after which I found a waste of time. It felt like I was being ripped off in those shops.

Amazing trip! Great guide!

The bus journey as a bit long and there were lots of checkpoints that we had to pass through but it was manageable. The tour guide Will was amazing super helpful and really help d us make the most of the day. I would recommend taking some toilet paper and plenty of water with you though as there was no paper in any of the lavatories and water stops went a thing. Other than that the trip was amazing!

U N I C A experience ❤️

What can I say if not FANTASTIC. I've read the reviews and I admit that many expect too much from such a trip, but I could not wish for better.Ahmed fantastic follows you throughout... I'll explain the journey: Departure at 23.40 meeting in front of the hotel with immense bus. Departure, it will take you a while because of the various stops for checks, just if you do not have a visa ask and they will go to the airport before leaving to get you a visa. You will be escorted by police to Cairo is a government practice, nothing worrying, but at the same time reassuring molyo. Stop at the autogrill for breakfast. Arrival in Cairo at 9am Where there will be a guide for you in Italian, who will follow you throughout the journey inside Cairo. Egyptian museum including entrance in the package Visit to the pyramids and sphinx (to enter the network make a separate ticket) Visit to the fragrance museum Boat trip on the Nile costs very much do it 12€ Lunch Visit to the papyrus museum And reentry Guys are spectacular, like a family.... thank you all for this wonderful experience Thank you very much

Brilliant trip to Cairo

I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is planning to go to Cairo from Sharm. It is a really long coach ride, much longer than mentioned on the description but it didn’t completely ruin the trip. We spent enough time in each location and for the price of the whole trip i think it’s really worth it! I’d like to thank Nahed for being mine and my sisters tour guide, she made us feel comfortable, safe and ensured we were okay throughout the whole trip. She really made the trip great!

Cairo Trip!

This trip was really amazing, the bus ride was not very comfortable. However it was definitely worth it for the price and everything included. We had such an amazing English speaking tour guide named Jimmy! He was literally the best! Made us feel so Comfortable made the experience so much more Better and explained everything so Clearly and interesting. Any of our questions he answered and took some great photos for us! No complaints at all. I would 100% recommend him! The food which was included was really nice, would definitely recommend going to the perfume Shop afterwards, didn’t expect to buy anything but came out with some great gifts, amazing quality for great prices! They all smelt amazing and all natural Products family owned business! 100% do The Nile boat trip although that’s not Included in the offer but it’s only around £10pp. You learn so much from the museum. The pyramids were great but to go around them on either horse or camel you do need to pay for. We didn’t get a chance to do that. You can also go inside the pyramids for a price which I think is like £18pp however our guide Jimmy was really honest and said it’s not worth it as the tombs are empty and it’s very small and compact in the pyramids. Amazing trip! Would definitely recommend!

Interesting but long tour, and with imposition of unforeseen commercial activities

Very interesting trip in terms of the visits that the description of the activity envisages. Guides are friendly and helpful, and competent. Excessively long journey, still prolonged by police controls along the road (at the return there were about 20 stops for this purpose), and by visits of a commercial nature that do not count the presented program. The arrival after the return had about 4 hours of delay. I chose this trip specifically because it apparently did not include visits to the papyrus museum, which is nothing more than a commercial activity to a workshop where papyrus is made, painted and sold, but I had to endure it. We were also 'forced' to visit a commercial establishment of essences, with great disappointment from the whole group, even because almost all of us had already bought essences.

Very great trip!

I booked a trip from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo by bus. Initially I was skeptical as we paid only 50€ per person, which was very cheap to the offers of the hotels. I can assure that everything went as it was in the description of the trip. On the procedure: We (2 people) were picked up from our hotel at 00:30 by minibus and taken to the meeting point. There, a large bus was already waiting for us with the other travelers. Our passports were checked right at the beginning as a visa must be available. After that it started. We drove with several buses (convoy) and with the police (you felt very safe in my opinion). At checkpoints we never waited longer than 10-15 minutes. The bus was air-conditioned. At 6 a.m. we took a breakfast break. There we could buy cold and hot drinks, eat our packed lunch from the hotel and go to the toilet. After about 50 minutes we continued. Arriving in Cairo we drove directly to the Egyptian Museum. There we or everyone got a guide in their language. We had Hussein, a German-speaking guide. Big praise to him. We would do this tour with him again and again! He accompanied us all day, which was really great. We took him on a minibus. He explained every detail and also told us the backstory of many things to understand the context. He is literally standing up for us in every respect. They could also individually boat through him (10€ p.p.). In the museum we were allowed to walk around for 40 minutes and look at the things he had shown us again in peace. Afterwards there was lunch and buffet form (only drinks cost, water big 3€, small 1.50€). Then we went to the pyramids (entrance Pyramdie extra €). There it was very interesting and you could take beautiful pictures. We also learned a lot about the pyramids. We also visited the Sphinx. When we were done with the sightseeing, we drove to a meeting point (to the big bus). To shorten the Waiting time you (it was said) we were taken to a fragrance store. There people tried to sell us some things, but not intrusively (if you want to buy something then trade until you can't). So on the whole it was a very nice and interesting excursion!!!! Very happy to come back! Thanks to Book Tour Egypt! Stay in Cairo 10am-7pm - has been fully enough. At night around 3 o'clock we were back at the hotel. 👍
