Overview

After visiting the Pyramids of Giza, visit the Great Sphinx, by far the largest surviving sphinx. It consists of a human head on the body of a lion. The Sphinx was carved from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Felucca cruise on the Nile is available for a fee.

A special day

Visiting the Pyramids was something we have always wanted to do, and it did not disappoint. They are something else. If you get the chance, go! You won't regret it. We flew as the bus trip takes way too long. This trip by flight started at 0430 for us, and we got back at 2330, so still a very long day. I would not advise taking younger children, even when flying. Our guide 'Jimmy' ( Jamal) was a fountain of knowledge and was so much fun as well. He gave good advice as well. For example you can pay to go into one of the larger pyramids but he advised trying the gallery in the queens pyramid first as it is free and shorter. He was right, most of the people on the tour found they could not have completed the bigger gallery and would have wasted their money. When you are at the pyramids or the sphinx don' let any of the locals take your phone to take your picture as they want money to give you your phone back. We took the horse and buggy ride to the viewpoint recommended to take he best pictures, but you can take a camel if you want. This is extra but you can get good pictures. After lunch in a nice Giza hotel we had 3 hours plus in the new museum. I think I could have spent three weeks there. It is amazing, and again our guide knew everything about it. The mask of Tutankhamen ids a must but there is so much more to see. After the museum we had the chance to take a boat trip on the Nile in Cairo, for an extra charge. This was a really nice way to finish the day. Just to mention you do go right through the middle of Cairo on this trip, and that in itself is an eye opener. You might think you have seen crazy driving ( Italy, Türkiye, etc) but believe me they are nothing on Cairo. When you are being held up on a 16 lane motorway by two old ladies walking up the road in front of you while motorbikes come down the road in the wrong direction you realise this place is special. This is not a cheap excursion, the day is long but I really can recommend it.

Fantastic Day in Cairo

Absolutely fantastic Cairo excursion from Hurghada! ✨ The early-morning flight was well worth it to visit the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum. We finished the day with a beautiful sunset river ride along the Nile. A special mention to our tour guide, Mr Falcon, who was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience even more enjoyable by bringing Egypt’s incredible history to life. An unforgettable experience that we would highly recommend! 🇪🇬

Cairo piramides

A day trip to Cairo

Today we made an incredible day trip from Hurghada to Cairo: the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, a delicious lunch, the Egyptian Museum, a sunset boat ride on the Nile—and back to Hurghada in the evening by plane. To be honest, at first I had quite a bit of distrust and skepticism—especially considering my previous experience traveling in Egypt. I traveled with my daughter, and it was especially important to me that everything was organized safely and comfortably. But in the end, we were very satisfied! Yes, the hygiene in some places could be better, but the friendliness of the staff, the delicious food, the excellent organization, and, of course, the incredible history of Ancient Egypt made this day truly special. The pyramids and the Sphinx in person are a completely different experience. The sunset over the Nile was a beautiful end to this busy day. I don't think I'll return to Egypt again, but we will remember this day with my daughter forever. ❤️🇪🇬 Thank you, Mr. Falken!

DROWNING ME WITH THE REVIEW, BUT TOUR WAS GOOD

He is forcing me to give five stars, the guide is next to me and won't leave me alone if I don't give five stars for everything, the tour isn't bad, I took the English guide because I understand some but not everything, but he was doing his own thing, he got angry because I didn't understand everything, he asked my partner if she was there for him or for me when she was just translating for me, in general I give it three stars, I don't know if I would do it again, and the fact that he is drowning me with the review now I don't find that very good, although he did take photos of us, the restaurant was good, you couldn't eat because of the people there. It is my experience.
