Private day in Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis

Thanks again to GEM Explore Egypt for our tour to Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis! We were provided with a professional tour guide in the person of Wael. He and his driver are very calm, good people and high qualified. Wael knows all about Egyptian culture like a real historian from the National Geographic channel. He is patient, he gave us enough time to explore the landscape, he used his stick to draw us maps and explanations in the sand. At the end of the tour, he took us to a rooftop restaurant with an excellent view of the Giza pyramids. We had an unforgettable experience!

Fantastic tour Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis

Thank you so much to GEM Explore Egypt for arranging our wonderful guide Wael and Osama our driver. Absolute must for visiting these alternative sites, Wael was kind and conscientious, with superb knowledge of Ancient Egypt and its dynasties, in particular exceptional knowledge on interior art and hieroglyphics. His enthusiasm made it feel like we were all exploring together! Osama was a great driver and very sweet (I never opened my own door all day). No surprise stops, no pressure to buy anything - fabulous tour and guide for the real traveller. Thank you again Wael, Osama and GEM, Sam and Laura

A Great visit to See Pyramids

This was a very good tour taking us to see so many sites. We loved going into the Red Pyramid. Our guide Ali was very easy to talk to & knowledgeable. His English is very good. Our driver, Mohammend, was very good, also. They just wanted to make us happy. We had a meal included in our tour & it was well worth it.

Amazing and unique tour!

Amazing and unique tour! Guide is very knowledgeable about Egypt history and very happy to tell you everything you want to know. His recommendations for additional places to visit were very good as well. Speaks English well. You can also ask him questions about the history of other locations in Egypt. He taught us how to read hieroglyphs and wall paintings.

Great guide and fantastic day!

Our guide Arafa and driver were both very professional, picking us up on time and starting our lesson in ancient Egyptian history in the car en route to Saqqara. Arafa obviously has vast knowledge and hands-on archeological experience, and pitched his explanations perfectly to us giving a deep background into all aspects of the sites visited. We felt safe at all times, and he made sure we saw what we wanted to experience. Lunch was fabulous, and he also provided good recommendations for the rest of our trip. Thoroughly recommended!

The best tour with Wael & Mohammed

I took this tour without much expectations. I was picked up on time at my hotel by Wael (the great egyptologist) & Mohammed (the excellent driver). First we went to Saqqara which was fantastic, all the information given by Wael was very interesting and precise, he also suggested to get inside the Steped Pyramid, which was perfect. Then we went to the Tomb of Mereruka, it is a great sample of egyptian interior de oration, and again the information given by Wael was excellent. After Saqqara we went to Dashur to see the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid ... heads up: entering the Bent Pyramid could be quite challenging, extremely hot and uncomfortable, so I decided not to get in. As for the Red Pyramid, great place, being inside it was far more interesting than entering the Great Pyramid of Giza (and as hot and airless :)). Finally, we went to see the huge Statue of Ramses in Memphis. Wael advice me of were to buy nice gifts and souvenirs. We ended up having a very good and abundant lunch on a terrace looking at the Giza Pyramids. Thank you Wael for the tour and great explanations, and thank you Mohammed for being a wonderful driver. Also Wael is a great photographer. I strongly recommend taking this tour with Wael & Mohammed.

Surprises of the desert

Amany was a great guide - patient, informative, friendly. This tour was a perfect gift for my father - egyptian history enthusiast. We stayed everywhere for as long as we wanted, no preasure at all & got all historical info about places we visited. Furthermore, the lunch was very good with a view to Giza pyramids from the skybar. You wont be dissapointed.

It will be even more fantastic than you imagined!

Our tour of Saqqara, Dahshur and Memphis with our guide 'Wael' was truly amazing and will stay in our memories forever. Did you think the Pyramids of Giza were everything about Egypt? There are more ancient pyramids(Saqqara, Dahshur), also historically epic moments(Memphis). With Wael, a qualified Egyptologist, veteran guide and old friend, you will be able to understand more about the country you are right in. Don't hesitate to make a choice that will make great memories.
