Exploring Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis with Kholod

We had a great day with Kholod, exploring Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis. Kholod was kind and knowledgeable and ran everything smoothly. We were especially amazed by the pyramids in Saqqara and Dahshur.

An enjoyable day tour

Azza and her driver, Abrahim arrived promptly at our hotel to start this tour. They were both fun and engaging through this 6-7 hour tour. The sites we visited were interesting and not too crowded. At the end of the tour we visited a papyrus bazaar and then a gold and silver store. This afforded an opportunity to buy some nice souvenirs. All in all an enjoyable day spent with Azza and Abrahim.

A Tour Fit For A Pharoh.

I had a great day on this tour with Akram and my driver Fares. If you have any interest in Ancient Egyptian history then this tour is an absolute must. Giza gets a lot of attention, but Saqqara and Dashur are a must, and I found the old capital at memphis fascinating. I was very lucky to have Akram as my guide. He is knowledgeable, articulate, considerate and funny, and I was engaged by what he told me about the history of the area. Fares was a great driver, and negotiating around Cairo traffic is no mean feat. Thank you again guys for an amazing day. I will certainly remember it for some time to come.

Best experience of our trip, definitely go inside and go early!

Asma was a fantastic tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. She gave us a good understanding of the history and what we were visiting. The lunch was good. I would highly recommend going into the pyramids and experience how incredible it is.

Great tour, very recommended

What a great tour! We got to see everything that’s in the description. Our guide Noura was very knowledgable and it was great to listen to her talk. Everything with tickets, drive and admission went smoothly so I recommend this to everyone who wants to visit these places! Plus our driver was kind as well and bought us some tasty Egyptian snacks!

An excellent day trip with Rana.

This was an excellent trip. It was well organised and ran smoothly. Rana was a pleasant and knowledgeable guide. We visited all the sites expected of the tour and I wasn’t at all rushed. We visited the stepped pyramid and the nearby tomb with wonderful hieroglyphs and carvings. At the ‘bent pyramid’ I was invited to go inside, which I did. It’s not easy but very rewarding to make it through the various passages and staircases to the burial chamber! At the red pyramid nearby, I was again invited to go inside but declined because I was all pyramided out… The included lunch that Rana arranged was also excellent and at a much more authentic Egyptian restaurant than other guides, who took me to fast food outlets. Some of the roads to and from the sites on this trip are atrocious but Rana had read my request for a ‘smooth ride’ because of possible travel sickness and I got just that, a really calm, careful drive. A great trip!
