The guide was very nice. However, he did not take us to all the stops that we paid for. And when we asked about a synagogue that was on the itinerary, thinking that it would jog his memory, he stated it was not part of the tour. At that point in time, we did not feel comfortable asking more information about it, as it was clear that we paid for the tour and we are not going to have an argument in a foreign country. When we returned to the hotel room, we contacted the tour operator, and he stated that he contacted the guide, and the guide would come back for us. We stated we were already back at the hotel, and then he had stated that the guide said we did not want to go there because it cost too much money. This was a lie, and we were not sure if the tour operator was lying to us or the tour guide was lying to the tour operator …we were not getting anywhere with the tour operator, so we contacted Viator. They sent an email to the operator, immediately took the vendor side and refused to do anything. I had to escalate the issue before Viator actually gave us a small credit. completely unacceptable as we booked three tours through viator, and this was the only operator we had an issue with. As far as the tour operator, he is completely unethical and you should not do any business with them. he even called me negative names on WhatsApp, deleted the link that he sent me to write a review, and then he thought it was funny that I was not going to get any type of compensation. COMPLETELY UNETHICAL OPERATOR Viator stated that one of the reasons why they believed the operator was because of pictures that were taken at the beginning of the tour. obviously, at the beginning of a tour, and during the tour, pictures would be fine until there is a problem. Viator should not have had me escalate the problem to be listened to especially when we booked three tours through them. and the tour guide operator, is completely unethical.

It is a quick look at the city of Cairo and the other side of its culture, it is a quick but very interesting tour. With a few hours notice we were changed from Spanish to English, however, Bisho was a very friendly and super accommodating guide, helped us a lot. Thank you.

Guide was very nice. However, we did not see everything that we paid for. He had stated synagogue was not part of the tour. When it was. And implied that we had to pay extra. Contacted the operator afterwards, and he said that he would send a guy back. But at that point, we did not feel safe in regards to that. The expectation is if we paid for something, they should’ve delivered on the front end. The operator themselves, were completely rude and argumentative. Complained with viatour, and they could care less about what the customer states. I will take this up with my visa company.

We planned a 1/2 day tour with Hesham many months beforehand. On the day before, he clearly communicated with me and the pickup arrangements were made. On the day, WhatsApp was used to make sure found the vehicle picking us up at the hotel. We were guided by Ahmed, with Kazem as our driver. Ahmed was excellent! He seemed to know everyone wherever we went, which was very useful. We first visited the St George church - never expecting to see the patron saint of England revered in Cairo. Ahmed explained how this happened; it was very interesting. Then we walked to the Hanging Church, where we learned its history and the stories told in the mosaics. The ancient Ben Ezra Synagogue we briefly visited after it closed; Ahmed knew the guards who opened it up especially for us. Well done Ahmed! We also called into the Church of Abu Serga where Mary, Joseph and Jesus took refuge from the Romans. There are rocks there that, history tells us, were stood on by a young Jesus. We had no idea we would see anything like that in Cairo. We dropped the Mohammed Ali Mosque and Citadel as we went there on a tour operated by our cruise ship, instead visiting the oldest mosque in Cairo. There, Ahmed explained a bit of the history of Islam and its beliefs. It was a very peaceful place, and we learned a great deal. Last we visited the Khan el-Khalili, a hectic market. We were looking for something specific, and Ahmed helped us find it. Kazem was always there on time and drove in the Cairo madness with great skill. I was asked to write a review, but I would have anyway as this tour should be on the list for everyone who visits Cairo and wants to learn from a passionate and competent guide. Thank you Heshem, Ahmed and Kazem. 5/5!
