This was the worst tour I have been on and my husband and I have travelled the world and gone on many tours. We chose Emo Tours because it is highly rated but it’s really hard to believe considering the experience that we and others had on the tour. I saw that the Emo Tours warns against listening to the poor views saying that they have been posted by disgruntled employees. This is a real review, written honestly and objectively. First, our pickup time was 9am but we were picked up 40 mins late at our hotel. During that 40 mins, I texted 3x and called a number of times to enquire what was going on. There were no replies except one that said “Wait a sec”. When the bus and guide showed up, he claimed that they had been waiting for us and circling around the area. That does not make sense. Why not call or text us? He said the office was super busy. Then he apologized and announced to the group that he was making one last stop to pick up guests before proceeding to Saqqara. At the hotel stop, we saw him standing and talking on his phone for 10 mins. No one came out. He said that we had to make a stop and wait because Saqqara was receiving an important guest and had shut the city to visitors. The driver pulled over and we waited at that spot for over an hour while a number of different people joined our group. By the time we proceeded to Saqqara at 11am we had about 23 people on board the van. So much for a small group which was advertised. I found out from talking to two families on the tour that they had booked for private tours but instead were brought to this “small group tour” by separate cars. One family had been given a pickup time of 8am and were picked at 11am. The other family’s driver had arrived on time but was caught by the police for not been properly licensed to drive. This family refused to sit in the vehicle and insisted the company send another vehicle to transport them. Another family told me that they had booked a 2 day trip to Luxor and it was a terrible trip with poor guides who asked them to go to look at the sites themselves without giving any background info etc. Their trip included flights and their flight times were not booked to coincide with the start and beginning of the tour times. The tour was supposed to include a lunch stop but because the tour started 2 hours late, there was no time for a lunch stop. The tour ended at around 5pm with all of us starving. The family with kids asked to leave the tour early because this was the family that had the pickup time of 8am and they did not have time for a proper breakfast. They needed to get food. At the last stop at Dahshur, a family was using the washroom. The guide forgot about them and left. After proceeding for about 5 mins or so, he decided to take a headcount and realized the family of 4 was missing. The van turned around to pick them up and the family was furious. They already had the bad experience of doing the 2 day Luxor trip with the same company and they also were late for their next booked excursion at 3.30pm because they thought the tour would end in the early afternoon. A tense exchange ensured but to his credit, the guide apologized and took responsibility for this awful oversight. He tried to pacify everyone and humour people but the damage had been done. The tour was very badly organized with little communication about what was going on. We spent a lot of time waiting around. I would highly recommend not using Emo Tours. It appears that the problems are systemic and that it was not just an off day for them. It makes me very highly suspicious now of reviews that I read. Hard to understand how an operator like this can garner good reviews.

The tour driver did not come at the scheduled time 9AM. I had to send a message at 9:15AM if we would be picked up. The tour company sent a message that the driver would be late, and he would pick us up at 9:30am. We waited but he did not show up by 9:45AM. We asked out Hotel to get some help. The concierge called the tour company at 9:50AM, but she could not reach to talk to the company. (No answers) She used my phone to text to the company. Later she got a contact. The message was that the driver went to a long place, and the tour company promised to pick us up later. We waited beyond limits and worried very much. It was not reliable if we could go to the purchased tour or not. We purchased the full services including driver, guide, tickets, and lunch. The tour guide took us extra 3 places — perfume oil shop, papyrus shop, and spice shop that they were not mentioned at the Viator website. So the lunch was at 4:30pm. It was not good. However, visiting Sakkara, Memphis and Dahshur were very good. The driver and the guide were friendly and good.

The driver didn't speak much English, but he spoke to me in Google Translate. The ride was good and they were very kind to me, which was great.

Tour guide didn't turn up. The tour and pick up were confirmed the night before but no one came to pick us up. No message or call to let me know. We sat waiting over an hour messaging the tour company. Still now I have no response from them. This is my last day in cairo. They completely wasted my time and I missed out on something I really wanted to see. If you value your time DO NOT book with this company

My experience with Emo Tours in Cairo was nothing short of exceptional and I feel genuinely compelled to share how grateful I am. From the very beginning, everything was handled with care, professionalism and genuine kindness. I had to change my schedule several times and throughout all of this, Samara showed EXTRAORDINARY patience and understanding. Not once did I feel rushed or like an inconvenience — only met with calm reassurance and kindness that went far beyond what one could reasonably expect. The driver assigned to me, MOHAMMED, was an absolute blessing 🙏🏻 He is highly educated, intelligent and extremely knowledgeable, which made the journey not only informative but deeply enriching. What stood out most, however, was the profound sense of safety I felt throughout the entire journey to Saqqara and Dahshur. Mohammed drove with remarkable care, attention and a calm, almost protective presence that allowed me to fully relax and enjoy the experience without a single moment of concern. That feeling of being completely at ease, especially when travelling far from home, is truly priceless. THANKS to Emo Tours, the day was not just a tour, but a beautifully smooth, stress-free and deeply memorable experience. This level of service reflects genuine care for their guests and a rare level of professionalism. I would recommend Emo Tours in Cairo without hesitation to anyone seeking not just a tour, but an experience defined by trust, kindness and excellence.

We got the driver only option, and our driver Iam is great. He introduced the places to us a lot, and he did not rush us at all during the trip. Highly recommend

Recommended activity 100%. Punctual guide and driver at pick-up. Friendly guide, knowledgeable about the subject, accessible to everything asked. You would have to avoid visiting the tapestry factory because you waste your time and are forced to buy even something. Thanks Mino!!

Hazem is an excellent tour guide . He went with us to each spot and explained the each and every thing in detailing. He seems to have a lot of knowledge about egyptian history. Great guy to hang out with. Would suggest to include lunch in the the tour as it can be tiring . We also went inside the pyramid for once in a lifetime experience
