Our first day tour of a week of tours in Cairo and Luxor started with a bang. Ibrahim, our guide, was fantastic and very knowledgeable but also very personable. He made our day such fun even when climbing in and out of pyramids. As well as history, we felt that he was able to convey much more, including glimpses of everyday life in Cairo. The tour is well worth doing, and the sequence which we proceeded was the best option for us: Dahshur - Memphis - Saqqara The more difficult Bent pyramid is the one to climb in first and end the day with the stepped pyramid. If you can get Ibrahim as your guide, you won't go wrong. So many other guides would tell us he was the best as we went around that day, but we soon found that to be true ourselves.

This was a super full-day trip embracing a range of pyramids, tombs, colossi as well as a sample of Egyptian rural environment. Our guide, Sahar, was both knowledgeable and companionable as she guided us through a lot of history, art and aspects of ancient and contemporary Egyptian life. Her English was excellent and at one point spoke Japanese to help a couple of tourists stranded at Darshur. We chose the option without a meal and paid for our own tickets. If you do this, make sure you carry plastic - all the site entrances were cashless.

Mahmoud was a great guide, very knowledgeable about all the history and Walid was a good driver and very helpful. We saw a lot of the countryside which was interesting as well as lots of Pyramids. We had the lunch option which was good, but it came a little late just before the end of the tour, around 3pm a day we got very hungry before! Only a small thing and overall a great trip.

Ahmed was a very knowledgeable tour guide who spoke perfect English. We had a driver as well, which allowed Ahmed to talk with us the whole time that we were driving and dropped us close to the sites. Ahmed took us to additional places of interest, 3 pyramids and also to a cartouche and papyrus shop. Everything was perfect.
