Aswan & Luxor cruise

This has to be one of the best trips that we have ever done. We were so incredibly lucky to have Mohamed as our private guide (we booked a group tour but we’re the only English on the trip). Mohamed is a PhD qualified Egyptologist who not only has the academic background to fully explain the history of the sites visited but he genuinely lives and breathes Egyptology. He is a natural story teller who brings the history to life giving you not only the historical facts but context linking this to other sites/periods. We visited Aswan (Temple of Philae, the unfinished obelisk and the High Dam) and have an extra excursion to a Nubian village which included an opportunity to cool down by swimming in the Nile (definitely something I never thought I would do). We had an early morning start the next day to Abu Simbel which went without a hitch (our drivers were fantastic and all very careful and experienced). Abu Simbel was amazing and definitely worth the early morning start (there is a mid point coffee stop to stretch your legs and take photos of the amazing desert mirages. The mini bus was like new, air conditioned and very comfortable). Following our trip to Abu Simbel we cruised up to Kom Ombo and had an early evening tour before dinner back on the ship and an overnight cruise to Edfu. After an early morning visit to the Temple of Horus we spent the day cruising up the Nile to Luxor. The ship may need sprucing up as the decor is outdated but the rooms were comfortable, the food more than adequate and the staff very pleasant. The addition of a pool on the top deck was fabulous after a day in the sun touring sites. In Luxor we visited Luxor Temple in the evening followed by a packed morning of the Valley of the Kings (including the chance to go inside 3 of the opened tombs, the colours were amazing and it is hard to believe that they have survived so many 1000s of years), Hepshepsut’s mortuary temple and the Temple of Karnak (where he proudly showed (and translated) for us the 2 walls which the subject for his Masters degree). At all stages Mohamed was able to easily talk us through what we were seeing linking this to the history of the relevant Pharoah/historical period. He has a very calm and easy style. He never lectured and we never felt that he was going through the motions in an uninterested style. He wanted to impart his love of the subject which he certainly did. We spent some lovely meals with him and he was very easy to talk to about a variety of topics of both ancient and modern Egypt. Overall the trip was well organised and thank you to Mohamed in the Aswan office for his help with everything pre departure.

Stay at the top

4 great days with Egypt unlimited tours. Rhaleb, our private guide has been extraordinary, he knows very well the ancient history of his country and has passed on his knowledge and passion. He speaks very good French and was very attentive to us. Everything is very well organized (transfer with driver waiting for you between each temple) and no unpleasant surprises (extra charge) Many thanks to Mohammed and his team for a wonderful stay that will never be forgotten. You can book with this agency with your eyes closed

An immersive experience through the Egyptian magic

The cruise through Nile from Aswan to Luxor has been a real surprise! Thanks to many activities and visits to the most important archeological sites, I have the chance to experience the real atmosphere of the ancient and modern Egyptian culture. The difference between a common touristic tour has been given by the friendly environment of the cruise but above all the incredible company of our amazing Egyptologist & genie Sayed who has been able to make me dive into the world of ancient Egyptian through his experience and great knowledge. I really appreciate how he has been able to understand what I like and what I am interested in, customizing accordingly the tour. Thanks to him, this has been an incredible and immersive journey that I will never forget!

Discovering ancient Egypt...with genie on your side!

The cruise from Aswan to Luxor is a journey through culture and ancient history…with a touch of magic. The tour includes all the must-see archeological sites along the Nile plus a variety of additional activities. But no magical experience could be complete without a personal genie: our Cicerone, Sayed. He guided us in our discovery of ancient Egypt with great professionalism, availability, and spirit. During 4 days, Sayed taught us about Temples, Pharaohs, and Egyptian Gods sharing with us his love for history. But not only this. He also gave us the chance to get in touch with his culture and the traditions of the people that live in this beautiful country.

Must

Best Holiday Experience Ever

From beginning to end there was always clear communication from Mohammed regarding our trip and what we could expect. He also made great recommendations based on our group size. Once we landed the team made sure we were treated like royalty. And Once in the hands of Hassan we received the most memorable experience of Egypt, I think we could have ever had. He was very knowledgeable and made every tour more exciting than the next. Top notch service hands down!!!!!!

An amazing, comfortable, safe way to travel to the most beautiful places in Egypt

We were thinking about what the best way to visit several temples and important Egyptian sites during our vacation, and found this tour. After reading the reviews, we decided it was worth the try, and we could not be more satisfied with the outcome. In our hotel in Aswan we were greeted by our travel guide Sayed. He is an egyptologist and has great experience as a tour guide, and is a good communicator, with great english and an even better mood. We were picked up in a private car, just for us, with AC and comfortable. This was the level that was maintained in the entire trip, all the way to our Hotel in Luxor, and Sayed always made sure we were informed of everything, well hydrated, always getting us cold water and beverages, and even complemented the tour with additional stops to see traditional Egyptian products and techniques from his friends. He explained the history of all the stops and more, and provided additional accommodations when we had any difficulty. His method is great - show the site, explain the history and some curiosities, then leave you free time to explore on your own and take photos. No queues, no complications with him! We could not be happier with our guide, and we have the pleasure to call him a true friend. On top of that, he’s a great photographer! The photos are proof of that. The deluxe cruise took place in the Jaz Queen Jubilee, a beautiful ship with excellent accommodations. The bed was huge and comfortable, the room had more than enough space for everything, a balcony with a beautiful view of the Nile with two chairs for our comfort, even a mini fridge to keep our water cold! The bathroom was private and comfortable. The only downside was the wifi service, that did not work, despite the information that it did. The staff onboard was always eager to provide assistance, and had a smile ready for all occasions. Towels for the pool, room service, all meals were included, the buffet style meal area had excellent food, service and good prices for the beverages, that were the only paid things. A special thank you goes to Mohamed, the waiter that was in our area all days. He always had a smile to put us in a good mood despite the early wake-up times! Through the entire process, the staff from Egypt Unlimited has been excellent in taking care of us, and making sure we were always well informed and well nourished. We fully recommend this trip for any first comer to Egypt! Notes: we have decided to do the additional visit to Abu Simbel, which we recommend, as it is the most beautiful temple. The cost was $120/person and it was made on a private car from Aswan (3.5 hour drive to each side). Recommendations: have change in EGP ready for tips to drivers, guards of temples that help with photos, etc; beware of scams, research prices before buying; bring SPF 50 subscreen; don’t count on the ship’s wifi, you will probably not have good internet access for 4 days, so invest in a SIM card if that is necessary.
