What you'll see

  1. Abu Simbel Temple
    Full day

As per requested time will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and drive to the south of Aswan which is around 3hrs drive to enjoy Abu Simbel day tour from Aswan by air-conditioned vehicle. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramesses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II.The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramesses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one. Spend around 3 hours there then take the way back to Aswan.

Guide who doesn’t communicate

The guide was very poor at overall communication. When we met at the car, she explained very briefly about the day and the area, and quickly fell into sleep throughout the journey. When we got to Abu Simbel, she again explained very quickly what’s inside and said she will wait for us at the cafeteria. She seemed very eager to get to cafeteria, by rushing her explanations. She also asked whether we would like lunch locally or whether we want it when we are back at Aswan(which was 3 hours away and it was already 11am). So we said locally and it turns out she was taking the food away and told us we can eat in the car while driving back. The food was also very basic rice & grilled chicken and we were ripped off for USD20 per person. She was also shouting at us “we are ready!” - while we were waiting for the driver to come back after the temples, though the driver was nowhere to be seen yet. It was a terrible experience overall and very disappointing.

Mostly good, didn’t love the ending

We are so glad to have had the opportunity to see Abu Simbel Temple, and would definitely recommend the tour overall. Guides are not allowed into the actual temple, but that was ok because we got the explanation right before going in, and our guide gave us a map that we could bring inside pointing out specific areas of interest. Our guide also took a lot of photos of us which was thoughtful of him. Lunch from a restaurant on the side of the road was good, and since it was a long drive we were glad to be able to eat in the car. The main reason for giving the tour 4 stars was that after we got back to Aswan we were taken to a spice shop which was not advertised as a part of the tour and felt like a way to get us to spend money on something we didn’t want or ask for. I wish we didn’t end the tour that way, because otherwise we had a nice day.

Abu Simbel in style without the crowds.

On time pickup at the dock location in a comfortable vehicle that accommodated the four of us in style. We considered the main advantage of this private arrangement was the ability to select a later departure time than the ship's arrangement and most other sharing options. This enabled us to have a more relaxing schedule and also avoid the overcrowding at Abu Simbel associated with the very early departure times.

A beautiful day to Abu Simbel!

We had a beautiful day with our tour guide Mariam Luke ( representing EMO tour) . She is very professional, friendly and patient with us. We set up our Journey to Abu Simbel at 7AM. Everything is perfectly arranged. The confirmation from EMO tour were promptly and clearly. Mariam never rush us and gave a good introduction to Abu Simbel. She had given us enough time to ask questions and explained them very well. That is the first time that we all felt very relaxed and enjoyed! We wish that EMO tour should get more opportunities to guide tourists.

A unique show!

Great discovery of Abu Simbel temples and their breathtaking beauty thanks to the enlightened comments of my guide and her equally excellent driver. This allowed me to observe the desert and its landscapes in an air-conditioned vehicle. All this was accompanied by a delicious lunch in the city. What a pleasure to have been able to exchange with my guide on our reciprocal cultures. She was very accommodating to call my hotel, my package does not allow it, and thus reach it. Thank you both, I recommend this wonderful experience!

Staggering !

The temples are quite simply overwhelming and well worth the journey. The arrangements to visit them smooth.

The car was clean, the guys were relaxed and they got me to abu simbel fast and safe eventhough I was late. We stopped along the way for little breaks which was nice! Thank you!

Could have been much better. This tour made me realise that it's not worth traveling to Abu Simbel from Aswan for a day trip

I would probably not recommend this tour package. Let me elaborate 1. We booked the tour with a 9am pickup. 1 day before the booked date, they messaged saying that the time has been changed to 5:30am. After requesting them to not make any last minute changes, they agreed for the tour to start at 9. 2. On the day of the tour, I had to follow-up with them a couple of times to get the details of the driver/guide because even at 9:15am there was no one who had come to pick us up. 3. Finally, the driver Seekhu came to pick us at 9:35am. He introduced us with the guide Rasha. The moment we got in the car, they stopped at a local store saying if we wish to buy some water bottles or snacks. This was irregular because in the tour inclusions, bottled water was mentioned. 4. On the way, I asked a couple of questions to the tour guide. While she could understand the questions she didn't let me complete my query. Eventually, I stopped. Anything apart from Abu Simbel, she had very minimum knowledge. I asked about the Sheikh Zayad canal but she couldn't tell. I asked about Lake Nasr but she had very limited knowledge about it. 5. When we reached Abu Simbel temples, she held a photo stack started captioning each photos without explaining anything about the reasons or facts behind the pictures. By this time I didn't want to ask any questions because everything seemed rushed. 6. Eventually I just gave up and just went with the tour without asking anything. They did drop us in the city where we had asked them, so that was nice. The driver was quite good. He spoke nicely and was very courteous.
