We had a great food tour in Cairo and really enjoyed the experience. It was a fantastic way to try a variety of local dishes while exploring the city with a local guide. The food was delicious, authentic, and gave us a real taste of Egyptian cuisine and culture. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cairo and wanting to discover local food beyond the typical tourist spots.

This street food tour was incredible!!! It’s a highlight of my trip! Our guide was hospitable, kind, knowledgeable, and helped us to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I would have never tried the places we went to alone. The Egyptian falafel was a favorite stop! I highly recommend this tour and would go on it again in a heartbeat.

We couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was so enjoyable to spend time with Ahmed and to be introduced to Egyptian culture and food. He was so passionate about the food that we tasted and took great joy in our experiencing new foods. This was an area of Cairo that we’d never have explored without a guide who walked us through the area, explaining the food as we went. Ahmed is so experienced in receiving travellers from all kinds of cultures and countries that sets you at ease from the beginning. More food than we could possibly eat! 😂 And well worth the money and time. If we had more time in Cairo we might have returned for a cooking class or a chance to explore the hidden gems of Cairo.

I cannot say enough good things about Ahmed and his family and the way they lead this tour. First piece of advice - come HUNGRY. You are basically getting a full meal at every stop. And all the food is delicious. Ahmed and his family introduce you to truly local gems - you have the chance to meet the people behind the magic, step into their kitchens, and savor the local cuisine. Each stop offers something new and Ahmed has curated a fun and unforgettable experience. A highlight of our trip.

Had the best experience with Ahmed! As a self proclaimed Foodie I could not have asked for more food or fun than our group had. In addition to the great food at I believe 8 different stops we also got a real taste of how the locals live!! Great value for the cost!!

My partner and I had a fantastic time with Ahmed, on our first night in Cairo and Egypt. The street food tour was amazing value for money, as you get a wide range of local dishes and you will not leave hungry! Not only food, but Ahmed truly gives you a local’s experience. From showing you how Egyptian Falafel is made, to teaching you about the cultural and social backgrounds of the areas and foods you are experiencing, and eating at authentic local hidden gems.

Meine Frau und ich hatten eine tolle Zeit, zusammen mit zwei Paaren aus Lissabon, Portugal und London, England. Ahmed und seine Frau Shorouk und ihre 8-jährige jüngere Tochter Maria zeigten meiner Frau und mir sowie den anderen Paaren absolut fantastische „Familiengastfreundschaft“. Das authentische ägyptische Essen, das wir gekostet haben, war in jedem der Restaurants, die wir besuchten, großartig, und die Menge an Essen, die jedem von uns gegeben wurde, reichte für eine individuelle Mahlzeit in jedem Restaurant, mit Ausnahme der Bäckerei, die wir zuletzt besuchten. Ahmed und seine Frau und Tochter waren sehr engagiert und erklärten die Bedeutung des Essens, das wir für die Familie und die ägyptische Kultur aßen. Ahmed sorgte auch dafür, dass ein Restaurant das Essen, das ich bekam, an meine Ernährungsbeschränkungen anpasste, was ich sehr schätzte. Mein dringender Vorschlag für zukünftige Gäste ist, ( 1) hungrig zu kommen und (2) die Menge an Speisen, die Sie in den ersten paar Restaurants essen, zu begrenzen, damit Sie in der Lage sein werden, das Essen in den verbleibenden Restaurants zu essen und zu genießen. Normalerweise bin ich kein großer Esser, und ich habe einen Punkt gemacht, um meine Aufnahme in jedem Restaurant zu begrenzen, damit ich die komplette volle Tour genießen kann. Ich wusste, dass ich mit dem Essen die richtige Balance gefunden hatte, da ich am nächsten Tag problemlos frühstücken konnte. Die Tour begann übrigens um 19 Uhr und dauerte bis 10 Uhr: 30 Uhr. Shorouck und Maria verließen die Gruppe jedoch nach dem zweiten Restaurant, so dass Maria sich am nächsten Tag für die Schule fertig machen konnte.
