Hany was the best driver and good honest person I have met in Egypt. He tried to make us comfortable, happy and enjoy our time. He was very willing to help us for everything. If you visit Abu Simbel, Hany will recommend you one fish restaurant. You must go there. So delicious! I really enjoyed my time with Hany. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic trip to Abu Simbel. Our driver Hany was very kind and did a wonderful job getting us to the temple and back. The vehicle was super comfortable and Hany would point out anything of interest along the way. The temple of Ramses II was so worth the long drive. We got many great photos. It was truly magnificent.

Our tour guide, Markos, was excellent. My husband and I had booked this trip last minute after realizing the difficulty of trying to travel on our own. We actually met Markos the day before when he took us on a tour of Aswan proper. He suggested this tour to us and we readily agreed, as he is incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful. The trip by car is long, but Markos made sure we were comfortable. When we arrived he gave us a thorough historical overview of both of the temples for Ramses II and Nefertari. He also taught us how to read their cartouches, how to identify the different gods and goddesses, and told us where we could find the best preserved images. He really was a wealth of information about the archaeology of the site, but also of the modern period- especially the removal and rebuilding of these landmarks above the waterline. We loved our time on this tour and highly recommend it. No pressure to buy or random stops at tourist junk shops!

We are very happy that we choosed Viator Abu Simbel tour from Aswan. Easy and smooth communication with Viator, pick-up in the reception of our Nile boat, great driver Hany who provided insights during our car trip through the desert and provided us with snacks and coffe-bathroom stop during the way. Guides are not allowed inside the two temples but the guide showed us photos outside so we knew exactly what to spot on the inside. In all we are very content with the Viator Abu Simbel tour and our driver Hany.

Hani, unser Fahrer, war großartig und machte eine lange Fahrt weniger mühsam. Unser Führer Michael erklärte uns alles, was wir wissen mussten, bevor wir die Tempel betraten, damit wir wussten, was wir sahen. Ich kann diese Tour wärmstens empfehlen.

Ein ausgezeichneter Tagesausflug zum legendären Abu Simbel-Tempel von Ramses II. sowie zum kleineren Hathor-Tempel. Von Assuan aus dauert die Fahrt in jede Richtung etwa drei Stunden, und unser Führer Michael und Fahrer Hany Amir haben es uns sehr bequem gemacht. Michael ist voller toller Informationen über die Tempel und die ägyptische Kultur im Allgemeinen. Er kam uns auch zu Hilfe, als der Geldautomat nicht funktionierte, und half mir, meine US-Dollar zu einem viel günstigeren Kurs in ägyptische Pfund umzutauschen, als Sie es bei jeder Bank finden würden. Wer sich Sorgen um die Sicherheit Ägyptens macht, sei versichert: Ägypten ist für westliche Touristen äußerst sicher, dennoch haben dieses Jahr so viele Menschen ihre Buchungen aufgrund (unbegründeter) Sicherheitsbedenken storniert. Es ist eine tolle Zeit für einen Besuch – Sie werden viele beliebte Sehenswürdigkeiten mit der Hälfte der üblichen Kapazität finden.

I travelled to Abu Simpel temple with Hany as my driver. The trip was really good. He met me at the hotel reception at 8 o’clock and brought me drinks and snacks. The trip takes 3.5 hours each way. When we arrive there, there is few tourists and not crowded at all. In additions, Hany is really warm-hearted and gave introductions about various things (farms, the dam etc.) on our way to Abu Simpel. He is really kind and drove smoothly. I am happy to have him as my driver. The Ahmed is the tour guide at Abu Simpel Template. He is really smart and knows every detail about the template. Thanks for the nice photos :) One small thing to notice is that the driver recommends me a fish restaurant in Aswan. The food there was really good, but overpriced. Other than that, everything is beyond my expectations and really a comfortable trip.

The visit to the temples at Abu Simbel was a highlight of our trip to Egypt. Everyone interested in ancient Egypt should make this trip! Our driver and our local guide were very knowledgeable and friendly. Four hour trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel was long but worth it. The tour operator provided a comfortable van and some snacks. We stopped for coffee about mid-way. Pick-up was on-time at 6:00AM. (We recommend starting as early as possible.) Highlights of the trip were the size of the figures outside the King's temple and the relocation of the temples to higher ground. A film documenting the relocation of the temples and creating a new "mountain" was poor quality and dated but viewable and worth the time. There was some confusion about the stated duration of the trip. Viator stated full day; driver thought the duration was 8 hours, Eight hours is insufficient to visit both temples and view the film.

A very efficient service. We were able to choose our start time so left at 0700 to arrive at 1030 missing most of the crowds and most of the heat. Our guide to the temple complex was friendly, funny and informative. The temple was well worth visiting - especially since the long journey was so comfortable.
