Hidden within the desert mountains, this remarkable archaeological site contains more than 60 tombs carved deep into the rock and decorated with vibrant wall paintings and ancient hieroglyphs that illustrate the journey to the afterlife. The Marsa Alam Private day trip to Luxor was an absolute delight

The guides were friendly, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. The trip was well-paced, allowing us to explore Luxor's wonders without feeling rushed. A truly enriching and immersive experience!

Great experience, be prepared for a long drive

The communication for reservation via WhatsApp was fast and clear. Mohamed picked us up at 3AM at Marsa Alam in a neat car. His English was sufficient to understand each other for stops and drinks. The only real downside of this trip was the length of the journey. From Marsa Alam you go via Safaga and Qena and takes >6 hours driving (there are some stops where the driver needs to wait for approval). We were not prepared for this so good to know (and mention on your website?) We arrived around 9:15 at the Karnak temple complex and met our guide Sayed. He was very enthousiastic and was full of information and we were able to ask him a lot of questions. Thank you very much! Lunch was really good with local food on a nice terrace. The way back was a bit better without the checks and stops and took 5,5 hours to our hotel. Overall we were very happy that we went, it was a great experience.

Lovely visit to some of Luxor’s highlights

We had a lovely experience visiting Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Memnon statues and Hatshepsut temple. Our guide, Sayed, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to tell us all about the spots we visited. He was very open to answers all of our questions and just very helpful in general. His English was also very good. Also our driver Mahmoud was great. Both were very accommodating and allowed us to personalise our trip whenever we wanted to stop for coffee, to shop, or to walk around.

Great trip

Great trip, very well planned day, this was a brilliant way to see a bit of Luxor's incredible history when we didn't have a lot of time. Our guide Hamees was great, very knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and informative. In some spots it might have been nice to have a bit more detailed information about the murals and carvings we saw. Our driver Nasser was also fab, super friendly and professional. The time keeping was a bit off, as we left a bit late in the morning and the drive took longer than advised both ways (4.5-5 hours each way from Port Ghalib) so worth leaving some extra time above what is advised if you plan to take this trip. But overall a great day and very much recommended.

Fantastic driver, great visits, unpleasing caveats however

Firstly, our driver Mohamed was amazing. He did everything he could to make us comfortable and drive us safe all the way to Luxor. He made us fell at ease, even though road traffic in Egypt is quite something compared to European standards. He even bought us snacks and drinks on the way back because he thought we needed them. Really kind. Our driver Mohamed deserved not 5, but 10 stars. Secondly, the tempels and the valley are astonishing. Worth every penny. We weren’t too pleased with our guide however. She showed up 30 minutes late. That is the last thing you want after driving 5.5 hours. She gave us the necessary information, but we couldn’t help but notice that she was at the same time too distracted by her phone. What really bothered us is that in between the temple visits, we made a stop - which wasn’t included in the tour description - at a local workshop where they made pottery out of alabaster stone. They were absolutely trying to rip us off there, asking €150 for pottery we had earlier bought somewhere else for €15. When we confronted the shop owner, he immediately took his price down to €20. The tour agency must stop this foolishness, as it had the possibility to ruin our beautiful day. If it wasn’t for Mohamed, I would have given this tour not more than 3 stars.

Perfect day in Luxor!

It was all perfect! Had a very good driver, and in Luxor Adel joined my German speaking guide. Since I was alone, I had 2 people who took care of my well-being all day in Luxor! Price performance was more than good! Since the drive from my hotel to Luxor alone took 3.5 h. And suburb had taught me Adel a lot of history. I could also read many hieroglyphs afterwards! Which I found very exciting. A perfect day ,and just like you imagine a tour!

Great trip in ancient Luxor

My girlfriend and I booked a day trip Marsa Alam - Luxor, at Luxor Egypt Tours. Our experience was perfect. The communication upfront was done via WhatsApp with Ali from Luxor Egypt tours. With a good internet connection this worked out perfectly for us. Ahmed, our private driver, picked us up 04.00AM. His English is not really up to date but good enough to understand each other. He picked us up with a new and clean car, he knows all roads and necessary stops, he lets the guest decide on music and air-conditioning, let us have our extra nap on the back seat and was a good and polite driver. At Luxor our private guide Mohamed Sayed was already waiting for us. His English is great, and with that he could provide all historical information and background stories at the different sites. He also had answers/recommendations to all questions we had. The fact that he studied Egyptology at the University of Luxor could explain his knowledge and enthusiasm of ancient Egypt. Normally I am not the kind of guy that does reviews, but in this case “the trip” deserved it. Luxor is astonishing, and Mohamed and Ahmed made it a pleasant (as far as possible with 10hrs of travelling time 😊) and unforgettable trip. Thanks guys, we had an awesome day
