West Bank – The Necropolis of Thebes Valley of the Kings Your journey begins at the legendary Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see, featuring elaborately decorated tombs that reveal the splendor of ancient Egyptian beliefs and artistry. During your visit, you’ll explore four royal tombs, including: The Tomb of Ramses IV – Famous for its vivid astronomical ceiling decorations. The Tomb of Ramses III – Featuring intricate wall reliefs and historical inscriptions. The Tomb of Merenptah – The grand burial site of Ramses II’s son. Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut), known for its historical significance and the treasures it once held.

  2. Tomb of King Tutankhamun (KV62)
    15 minutes

Entrance fees to the tomb of Tutankhamun (300.00 EGP) (optional) King Tutankhamun, the most famous king in the world. This young king from the New Kingdom was around 10 years old when he ascended the throne and died when he was only 19. You will get the chance to be face to face with his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings

  3. Tomb of Ramses III
    15 minutes

The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’

  4. Tomb of Merenptah
    15 minutes

In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. In the or simply in its falcon form of the new deity, began to be placed in tombs to accompany and protect the dead on their journey to the West of Luxor .Tomb 8, which is located in the Valley of the Kings, was the burial place of the Pharaoh Merneptah and is the model of royal tombs Merneptah was a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret.the tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1903. Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

  5. Tomb of Ramses IV
    25 minutes

The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings is rather different than most other tombs built here. This tomb is by far the most spectacular of the other tombs you will see. The hieroglyphics on the wall depict scenes from the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Caverns, the Book of the Heavens, Book of Amduat, and the Book of the Night. The blue and white colors on the walls inside the burial chamber are very vibrant and you can see the king's sarcophagus made of rose-colored granite. There is also a beautiful scene of goddess Nut on the ceiling, where she is depicted swallowing the sun, and it traveling through her stomach, for Nut to give birth to it. The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated.

  6. Temple of Hatshepsut
    1 minute

After visiting the tombs you will be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman ever to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh. Luxor Greed Tour

The tour is enriched from morning till evening with the overwhelming expertise and humor of the local born guide/Khalid, who has a PhD in this field! His profound respect for ancient Egypt, his history told with a boyish look of passion, his grasp of each site, his way of taking photographs that mysteriously make it seem as if there are no tourists around him, and his reading of hieroglyphs are breathtaking! The transport minivan was clean, comfortable and under Ramadan's careful driving you could take a nap while travelling. A tour that is too perfect to fully explore the West/East coast in one day! Thank you.

Luxor gate

Hassan’s punctuality guides him and the driver. Route optimization. Always smiling with this guide. And it was a pleasure to exchange with him. He is always listening. He is familiar with the basics of Egyptology. We visited under his guidance the main tombs of the Valley of the Kings, as well as the main sites of Luxor. We were able to have lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Nile. The weather was nice. The day was pleasant. Thank you Hassan.

Indispensable Resource!

Abdul from Luxor Travels literally made our trip to Luxor worthwhile — it just wouldn’t have been the same without him. I have previously traveled in Egypt on my own without using a guide, but a local friend urged me to give Luxor Travels a try. I’ll never go back to traveling in Egypt the old way! A bona fide Egyptologist, Abdul translated the complex and mystical history of ancient Egypt into relatable stories, helping us understand the life of nobles, kings, commoners, and slaves from thousands of years ago. He helped history come alive, providing context and meaning behind each ancient tomb, temple, or statue. At high season, with the sites teeming with tourists, Abdul’s local know-how streamlined our visit to the various sites, enabling us to fit in more in one day than we would have been able to do in three days on our own — and with his deep knowledge of Egypt’s history, made our visit to each site so much richer than it would have been without his expertise. Highly recommend Luxor Travels and Abdul — they were instrumental in giving us an unforgettable and memorable visit to Luxor!

Wonderful day in Luxor

Abdul from Luxor travels is an exceptional tour guide! We spent a full day with him touring four temples and the valley of the kings. The restaurant where we ate lunch was the best food we've had in Egypt. Abdul is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. In addition to being a tour guide, he teaches Egyptology at the local university. He translates the history into bite-sized stories, making it understandable and relatable. His English is excellent. At several points during the day, my partner and I said we could not imagine seeing the sights around Luxor without Abdul. We highly recommend him -- and Luxor Travels!!

Great way to see the main attractions in Luxor in a single day.

We spent the whole day visiting the msin attractions of the West Bank and East Bank of the Nile River. Our tour guide Khalid was very knowledgeable and knew the best spots to take pictures in all the attractions. There are cheaper tours available but those are group tours and you don't get to see as much in a day as you do with this tour. Very highly recommended especially if you have a limited time in Luxor.

A wonderful Luxor experience

Absolutely great. Amir and Ramdan (SP?) were phenomenal. I cannot over emphasize what a great experience Amir provided to me and my family. He was warm, welcoming, friendly, well spoken and full of fascinating facts about our various sites. His service was just great. I will gladly recommend him as a tour guide to anyone that is heading to Luxor. He really made for a great experience and I cannot thank him enough for the memories he helped create for me, my wife, and my daughter.

Friendly, competent and very impressive.

Hamdi our tour guide was very friendly and competent. He even gave us some tips for our later journey. The tour covers the most impressive monuments and does not drag you into souvenir shops (unless you want to )
