Overview

Experience the best of Aswan and be back in Luxor before bedtime with our private tour. Accompanied by an expert Egyptologist guide, you will visit the Edfu Temple dedicated to Horus, and the Temple of Philae dedicated to Isis on the way to Aswan. After lunch, you will explore the top attractions of Aswan, including the Aswan High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk.

What you'll see

  1. Edfu Temple
    2 hours

Your Egyptologist guide will provide a comfortable transfer by air-conditioned vehicle from your Luxor hotel or Nile Cruise to Aswan, with a stop at the impressive Edfu Temple en route. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the temple's intricate reliefs offer valuable insight into ancient Egyptian religious and political beliefs.

  2. Aswan High Dam
    2 hours

It's time to take a break for lunch. Once you've finished your meal, we'll head to the impressive High Dam. This structure is considered one of the most significant accomplishments of the past century in Egypt, as it contains 18 times the material used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Not only does it provide the country with water and electricity, but it also protects Egypt from the destructive flooding of the Nile River.

  3. Temple of Philae
    2 hours

Next, you'll explore the Temple of Isis at Philae. Construction of the temple began during the reign of Ptolemy II and was completed under the Roman emperors. It was dedicated to the goddess Isis, who was considered the mother of all gods, the mother of Horus, and the consort of Osiris.

  4. Unfinished Obelisk
    1 hour

Continuing on, we will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, an impressive example of ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques. This obelisk is believed to have been commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut during the 18th Dynasty. After the tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel or Nile Cruise in Luxor.

We were taken comfortably to the Temple of Edfu!

I was staying in Luxor, but I really wanted to see the Temple of Edfu, so I thought I had to charter a taxi, but when I talked to the driver who helped me on my tour of the West Bank of Luxor, he contacted the company and took me there the next day at a reasonable price. It was a safe ride and a comfortable car, and I felt safe participating. Thank you very much.

Transit Service from Luxor to Aswan

After enjoying a fantastic felucca experience with Luxor Egypt Tours, we opted for their transit service from our hotel in Luxor to another hotel in Aswan without any stops. They offered us a discounted rate of LE 2,500 (GBP 41.67), which we found quite reasonable. The driver, Tamir, arrived earlier than the scheduled pick-up time. He was fantastic, professional, and very polite. Throughout the journey, he remained focused on the roads, drove with care, and didn’t use his phone at all. Although he didn’t speak much English, he could communicate well enough for us to understand. He didn’t try to sell us any tour packages or make unnecessary stops at shops or factories. The car was the best one we’ve had in Egypt so far. It was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Overall, it was a very pleasant drive, and we felt extremely safe. Excellent service!

Our trip from Luxor to Aswan.

George was an amazing tour guide on our trip from Luxor to Aswan. Very friendly and very knowledgeable of the history in the area. He took us to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Dam. Amazing experience and very much worth your time. The boat ride to the Temple was very nice and scenic as well. I highly recommend this tour and George as your guide.

Much more than just a ride

Salah is an exceptional driver who knows the area very well. They were patient, kind, attentive, helpful and very friendly. He showed us places with beautiful views and took the initiative to stop on the way for us to take photos and create memorable memories. You can take as much time as you like for each visit without being pressed by an imposed timing. We spent 2 incredible days with him. He offered us tea, shared the Egyptian bread and gave us Egyptian rates in a few coffee shops on the road, always heartily and never asking for anything in return. If you are looking for a driver with a real human relationship call on him, he considers you his friends!
