Overview

Discover the different districts of Hurghada on this city tour. Explore both the traditional old town and the new, modern city. After being picked up at your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, you will drive to the fishing village and visit original, simple houses that only have one floor. It feels like time stands still in this part of the city. The fishermen get up with the sunrise and go to sleep as the sun sets. Life is simple and traditional. Visit a shipyard and see how fishing boats are built and restored using traditional methods. The largest mosque in Hurghada is situated nearby. Here you can learn more about Islam, the main religion of Egypt. You will then continue to the oldest Coptic church in the city. At the end of the tour you will visit the large fruit and vegetable market before you are dropped off back at your hotel.

Hurghada, here we go!

My husband and I went with a guide and his driver. We have usually been in groups before and had expected to be in one. That didn’t matter but the state of the car we used was far was not very good and there was no air conditioning we were promised and what we believe we paid for. We had to rely on the open driver’s window and that of the guide. The tour was cut short as it was dark and there were two places that we did not manage to go to. However, it ended when it was dark and although it was an experience. One felt short changed to be doing a tour in the dark. I was not happy about that. A tour does not necessarily have to include going to places where you are put in a position to see things, in this case a papyrus/ artefact producing place and the temptation is right there to make you buy. I rated this very good only because we established a good rapport with our guide, Tarek, who was kind and knowledge. I wish that these people who make you pay for these tours should make the tours first and then make the assessment themselves whether what they recommend is really value for money. After paying, there is the ever present expectation for the 10% tip!!!

Cheat pack

The city tour is offered as follows: Your experience Highlights • Visit Hurghada's largest mosque No, they visited another mosque. and the Coptic Church • Discover the different parts of Hurghada OK. • Experience a journey through time and see how fishing boats are built and restored in a very traditional way. That was not offered. • Visit the old town with its original flair. OK. • Marvel at the colorful underwater world of the Red Sea in the aquarium without getting wet. That was not offered. • Get access to the Hard Rock Museum That was not offered. What is this epic debauchery about an unachieved achievement: After being picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, you will drive to the fishing village and visit the original, simple houses with only one floor. In this part of the city, it feels like time has stopped. The fishermen get up with the sun and go to sleep with it again. Life is simple and original. During the subsequent visit to the shipyard you can see how the fishing boats are still built and restored in the traditional way with your hands. Instead, almost an hour's stay in a perfumery, which almost turned the city exploration into a coffee drive. This program item should have been mentioned in the “Highlights”. Tourists are obviously being lured with false information. You could call the entire description a cheat pack. For it was certainly not an exception, but this process as we experienced it is consciously practiced in this way. Moreover, the suspicion arises, no it is obvious that the tourist guide participates financially in the extensive detour to the relatively remote perfumery, which is clearly tailored to tourists, or, depending on the situation, to a papyrus production.

Hurghada City Tour

The tour was interesting but could of been better with a bit more local information. You were also taken to some shops. Don't feel pressured to buy as is the case when you go into any shop there. it was interesting to know that prices were a lot cheaper than in the Hotel, it was also nice in the shops that the prices were fixed.

Hurghada with private guide

We booked the Private Guide Tour and did not regret it. The guide was very attentive and our wishes were also taken into account. There were two program items which were great surprises. The German-speaking tour of the city was very informative and entertaining as well as entertaining.
