What you'll see

  1. Valley of the Kings
    2 hours

Explore the legendary Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs located on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor. Hidden within the desert mountains, this remarkable archaeological site contains more than 60 tombs carved deep into the rock and decorated with vibrant wall paintings and ancient hieroglyphs that illustrate the journey to the afterlife. The valley is also famous for the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922. Visiting the Valley of the Kings offers a fascinating insight into the power, beliefs, and artistic achievements of ancient Egyptian civilization.

  2. Temple of Hatshepsut
    1 hour

Visit the magnificent Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, one of the most impressive temples in Egypt. Built for the powerful female pharaoh Hatshepsut, this unique temple is located on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor and is famous for its striking terraces carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. The temple showcases beautiful reliefs and inscriptions that tell the story of Hatshepsut’s reign, including her famous trading expedition to the Land of Punt. Surrounded by dramatic desert landscapes, the temple stands as a remarkable example of ancient Egyptian architecture and one of the most iconic historical sites in Luxor.

  3. Colossi of Memnon
    5 minutes

Visit the impressive Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that have stood on the west bank of the Nile for more than 3,400 years near Luxor. These towering statues represent the powerful pharaoh Amenhotep III and once guarded the entrance to his vast mortuary temple. Rising about 18 meters (60 feet) high, the Colossi of Memnon are among the most photographed landmarks in Luxor. Despite centuries of floods and earthquakes, the statues remain an impressive reminder of the grandeur of ancient Egypt and offer visitors a fascinating glimpse into the country’s rich history and architectural achievements.

  4. The Karnak Temple
    2 hours

Discover the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest and most impressive religious sites ever built in the ancient world. Located in Luxor, this vast temple complex was developed over more than 2,000 years by successive pharaohs. Dedicated mainly to the god Amun, Karnak features towering pylons, massive columns, and beautifully carved reliefs. Visitors can explore the famous Great Hypostyle Hall with its forest of gigantic columns and walk along the sacred avenue once used in ancient religious processions. Fantastic day trip to Luxor

We had an absolutely amazing day visiting Luxor. Our guide, Sayed, was fantastic - so knowledgeable about the temples, tombs and the history and stories, yet he delivered all this information in an interesting way so we learned so much while still having fun! Everything was built around our preferences (e.g. how long we stayed, what tombs we saw, when we had lunch), with nothing too much trouble to sort out for us. Lunch was delicious, and while we did visit a papyrus and stone shop and bought souvenirs, tit was our choice to visit them and we bought because we wanted to due to the quality of the items, as a memento of our holiday; we could have skipped these stores and we did not feel under pressure to buy at any point. It is a long day from Hurghada (~16 hours), but well worth it, and our driver was very safe and friendly. All in all a really fantastic way to see Luxor from Hurghada, and Sayed is highly recommended!

Great experience. Pick up from the hotel and straight to luxor to meet our guide Mena who was amazing. Mena has incredible knowledge about the history and complex Egyptian dynasties. He made it so easy for us. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids, and it was a perfect interact. Highly recommended.

Best tour of Luxor?

This tour has been the highlight of our stay to Hurghada. The drive was very calm and save and we made a very good time without unnecessary stops. Once in Luxor we met our guide Hussein. He explained at length about the story of the Valley of the kings, the funerary temple of Hatshepsut and the Karnak temple district. We didn't feel pressured to do anything we did not want to do. The obligatory stop at an alabaster factory was enlightening and fun. The food was good and the well climate controlled room was a good and welcomed break. Would recommend to anyone without a doubt.

Fantastic Full Day in Luxor

We had an amazing day in Luxor with Hany, he had the perfect mix of being informative and allowing us to some free time at each location - which is exactly what we wanted. We didn’t feel rushed at all. His knowledge of Egypt is amazing! We learned so much from him. His English is clear and very well spoken. He also knew all the good spots to take pics at the Karnak Temple! Ahmed was a brilliant driver, arrived promptly and was always ready to collect us and take us to each location. He was polite, and his car was clean and comfortable. He drove safely. He was polite and played some great music! All in all it was a great day, and we would definitely recommend.

Worth seeing

The trip there took longer than I said. We were traveling for a total of over 4 hours and not 3-max.3 1/2. It was worth seeing, but not long to endure in temperatures of 36° in the shade. Unfortunately, only fast-track. The German-speaking tourist guide did a good job.

Incredible experience! High recommend.

Our private tour in Luxor was truly unforgettable, thanks to our incredible guide, Sayed, and our wonderful driver, Mostafa. Sayed’s deep knowledge of ancient Egyptian history made our visits to the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the tomb of Tutankhamun absolutely captivating. He shared fascinating insights and stories that brought the sites to life in such a meaningful way. Mostafa ensured we traveled comfortably and safely throughout the day, making the experience smooth and stress-free. The private tour allowed us to explore at our own pace and ask plenty of questions, which Sayed answered with passion and detail. This experience was a highlight of our trip to Egypt, and we can’t recommend Sayed and Mostafa enough!

Amazing private trip to Luxor

It was a great private tour of the most important places in Luxor. Our guide Sayed has a great knowledge of ancient Egypt, he was describing everything with great passion. Great friendly driver Gamal, big kudos for the long round trip from Makadi Bay to Luxor and getting us back safe to hotel. Tasty lunch with authentic Egyptian cuisine was a nice addition. Sincerely recommend this trip to everyone.

An excellent experience!

We used the services of Luxor Egypt Tours during our stay in Luxor. We have been entirely satisfied, and we can sincerely recommend the company: they are well organized and provide comfortable and clean cars with reliable, careful drivers. Unfortunately, we had a problem for which Luxor Egypt Tours was in no way responsible. Nevertheless, the manager solved everything for us, and he was extremely helpful and proved to be absolutely trustworthy. Many thanks, Ali, for everything!
