Luxury tour for two with Jackie

Jackie was very knowledgeable and fluent in English, and taught me a lot before the transfer. He also gave me freedom with his schedule and was a great guide! He also gave me accurate prices when shopping, which was helpful!

Lovely day with some caveats

Overall we had a lovely day. There were 5 adults in our party, all women. Communication with Mohra was great from the start when we booked. All through WhatsApp. We were picked up from our hotel on time at 11pm in two cars which we weren't too happy about but resigned ourselves to. The drive was okay, our driver didn't speak any English but tried his best and was very sweet asking if we are okay several times. We would have preferred to have stopped at better facilitated places along the way as they didn't always feel safe for us. We arrived around 4am and immediately asked to do a review of the driver. I am not a fan of this as I like to take my time and do a comprehensive review afterwards. We were taken for breakfast which was very good, the cooks were two lovely lads who made us omelettes, plates of greek salad, fruit, yogurts and bread as well as tea or coffee. After this we were picked up by a mini bus and taken to the Nile where we sat for a while before heading to the balloon site. IMHO the pick up could be a bit later as we did have a lot of time for breakfast and waiting to go to the site. The hot air balloon was amazing, very well managed. We were up for almost an hour. The views are stunning and well worth the early morning. Next we went to meet our guide, Ahmed and we travelled to the valley of the Kings. Ahmed is a nice guy, clearly knowledgeable, with a deep love for his country and the history, that much is clear. He chose the 3 tombs we should visit which are included in the ticket and we also chose to go to Tutankhamen and Ramses 4/5 as well. He chose very well, they were beautiful tombs to see. I thought after this we would go to Hatshepsuts temple however we were told we would go to see an Alabaster workshop which is not scheduled on the itinerary (on Get Your Guide) first. While very interesting, I do not think this is needed as it was clearly set up to sell us things. We spent a lot of time there which I feel would have been better used at the historical sites we came to see. Also the salesman was a bit pushy and we felt we had to buy something. The rest of the trip then felt very rushed to me. We went to Hatshepsuts temple but were told we only had 10 mins to see it. I understand there is a schedule to keep however we have travelled thousands of miles to see these things (which the guides have access to all the time) so perhaps some more patience would not go amiss. After the temple, we went on a Felucca ride which was nice and then lunch which was nice (doesn't include any drinks but they were very well priced). I was under the impression that we would see Karnak, Luxor temple and Deir el-medina as per the itinerary but we left after lunch and returned to Hurghada. Slightly disappointed at this but what we saw and experienced, we really loved. Overall, the trip is great to see the highlights of the valley of the kings, experience the hot air balloon and see some temples from above. If you go with that expectation, you will be pleased. I would then book a separate tour for more in depth visits to the other sites. The bits we didn't like were: The rushing of seeing sites The Alabaster shop trip, highly unnecessary Being asked for reviews straight away Tips, tips and tips. Everyone wanted a tip. We spent almost 1000 egp on tips alone The highlights: Hot air balloon - nothing like it Valley of the Kings and guide - great picks by the guide and knowledgeable Hatshepsuts temple Food was also good

Amazing day in Luxor with Jackie and Bomba

Baba and Jackie were amazing. Bomba drove us safely while sharing some jokes along the way. Jackie was an incredible guide. She was very knowledgeable and showed us all the places we wanted to see with enthusiasm. She even suggested other places that we could see. Communicating with her was easy and seamless. I would highly recommend her.
