We loved it!

We enjoyed this food tour very much. We booked the local option and so glad we did. Food was very tasty and every stop was a surprise with so many options to choose from. Our guide Sarah was passionate young woman who was very flexible with us and made sure we tried everything we wanted.

Highlight of our trip

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Cairo. Our younger two kids (aged 6&8) were so engaged and were gently encouraged to try new foods , our 8 year old discovered he loves eggplant and our 6yo loved all the fava bean dishes. Our teen is autistic and struggles with sensory overload, the guide was so encouraging and understanding and engaged her in conversations. She was hesitant to go on the food tour but declared it one of her favorite activities during our two week trip! Would suggest making this one of your first experiences, it really helped us to understand food we wanted to order again and made for a great first day in Cairo.

Cairo street food greatest hits tour!

Magy brings her incredible knowledge of Cairo to curate a thrilling food adventure. Her walk ditches the tourist-hotspot-in-guidebook approach for an experience sampling incredible hole in the wall joints that highlight local food the way it is actually prepared for locals. Highly recommend, come very hungry!

Magy was absolutely amazing -- that's not even very well said.

Magy was absolutely amazing -- that's not even very well said. We had a great group: there were two American girls besides me, so our whole company is four women in Cairo. I was a little nervous at first, but Magy knows what he's doing. She immediately took control of the situation, we felt absolutely safe, and she showed us so much local food that I would never have found or tasted myself. Cairo is an incredibly beautiful city, and the food here is amazing. I strongly recommend this tour. Come prepared and hungry – because there is so much food. At the end, we couldn't eat anymore, but we still kept walking around looking around because it was wonderful. And yes, girls - dress modestly, otherwise you can immediately see that you are a tourist.

Delicious Way to Explore Cairo!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Cairo food tour with Magy. She took us into neighborhoods we never would have discovered on our own - not another tourist in sight. We felt like we got a good, authentic taste of life in Cairo. There were so many delicious stops. Just be sure to pace yourself - we were SO full by the end we couldn't eat another bite! Magy was lovely; very warm and engaging. She even hailed a taxi for us at the end and paid the driver since we hadn't changed any money yet. I would 1000% recommend taking this tour with Magy!

Superb!

‎I highly recommend this food tour! My sister and I had a fantastic experience with them. They were very interactive and responded to questions quickly. The tour itself was impressive and well-connected, so many options to taste and great local restaurants selection . It gave us a local immersion experience, not just a typical one. I would definitely use The Amazing Tourist again!

An excellent food tour...

An excellent food tour with the dearest of guides - Maggie. We were a group of 7 on the night which was the perfect size. The tour begins with a trip in the back of an old van across one of the most incredible old tunnel like bridges straight to the heart of the Imbaba district. It felt like another world compared to downtown Cairo. Maggie weaved us in and out of crowds and food joints effortlessly. She was a wonderful host for the 3 hour tour in which we sampled what seemed like an endless amount of foods. We had a wonderful time.

Book this TASTY food tour!

Magy is such a gem and provided such a uniquely crafted, beautiful, TASTY and FILLING food tour! We explored multiple different neighborhoods and feasted (yes it was a feast) on local Egyptian cuisine. Magy provided context, tips, and personal stories behind each dish, making the tour so special, and went beyond just a food tour. I’d HIGHLY recommend booking this food tour with Magy! Her hospitality is unmatched, as is her taste for amazing cuisine! Also, if you haven’t realized the theme throughout my review, please come with an empty stomach and be ready to have a feast! Thank you Magy for such a memorable experience!
