Sugar Queen is one of a kind!

Sugar queen made this experience a once I a lifetime moment. From her energy to her knowledge, it felt like being a part of the culture and family. I would highly recommend this to anyone! The food was amazing and it was not just a sample bite. We were presented with large amounts of quality food. Truly worth it!

Excellent food tour, definitely recommend

Excellent food tour that lets you sample local cuisine at 3 different restaurants plus stops at local shops that sell Egypt local goods. it was nice to stop by some shops to get a break we definitely needed time to digest between meals. We had the tour guide Mo. He spoke excellent English and he was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history. My dad had a bunch of totally off the wall random questions about Egypt and Mo was able to answer them all. We felt like we got a cultural tour of the city of Giza and not just about food. The high light of the tour was eating lunch at a rooftop restaurant with views of the pyramids. Mo even took Instagram worthy pics of us with the pyramids at the restaurant

Great local food

Fun morning with great, local food. Our tour guide was Amira. She was very nice and knowledgeable. Lots and lots of food so don’t over eat at your first stop. We visited papyrus shop and some other places in between food stops. Very pleasant and fun experience. No one pushed us to buy anything. Very low pressure, relaxing tour. Great way to spend your time after you have visited Giza and museums. Highly recommend.

Great food tour

All of the food was amazing, all traditional Egyptian food that I hope to enjoy more of during my trip. Abdo was great, explained many parts of local life. Plus we visited the papyrus factory, and a local oils and spice shop. All in all, a great experience!

One day eating Egyptian style

From the moment Mo picked us up with a warm welcoming smile and calm demeanor I knew we were in good hands. When I travel I want to eat local as much as possible and have an authentic not touristy experience. This particular visit for me focused on Giza. Mo expressed his desire to focus on a typical Egyptian may eat during the day. We were a match made in heaven. We began breakfast at Hills restaurant. It is well decorated with a happy upbeat vibe. The dining space could easily accommodate large parties of 20-30 people. The table was covered. Mo assured us the women of the household cooked these options regularly for breakfast. Roasted eggplant, Cucumber tomato salad, tahini, humus, potatoes, chopped cheese and tomato salad, potatoes and falafel. We took a break from eating to smell some wonderful essential oils. After sampling oils we we treated to a wonderful presentation of organic spices and teas. Back to eating we sampled Kushiry. Kushiry starts with a plate of two types of pasta: spaghetti and small macaroni. Topped with lentils chickpeas ground meat, spaghetti sauce. I like mine with lemon vinegar and a lot of chili sauce. Halfway thru my bowl I started scooping it with the deep fried aish bread. In need of another break we stopped at a carpet making school. I was able to witness first hand how deft fingers weave the fine silk threads. Hammoud guided us through the store displaying one beauty carpet after another. Now I know why they cost so much. Lunchtime and time for Barbque. I was very ready. My mouth watered in anticipation of smoky savory sauce coating my choice of meats. Imagine my surprise when out comes meat without any coating😂😂😂 BBQ in Egypt is grilled meat. Just one of many foods that have the name name, but are totally different in US compared to Cairo. A strawberry milkshake is a thick drink of blended strawberries. Another break from food we visited a cotton store. There were many beautiful blouses, skirts and dresses in many colors and designs. We wrapped up our afternoon sampling icecream. My favorite food. Not quite icecream not quite gelato. It’s much less sweeter than either and I am a fan. Do not hesitate to book with Mohammed for any of your needs while in Egypt. He offers more tours than food. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. He is a certified Egyptologist and would love to show you his Cairo. Book now.

Nice food tour

We had good day with Mo and Ibrahim during the food tour. We let the guide know upfront what we liked and what food we had already tried on our previous tours and he made sure we could try some new food instead. Mo is very helpful and honest! It was also nice to see the local Giza market, spice and carpet shop. Would recommend this tour.

Fun, Food, and Laughter

Queen Sugar, Princess Amera, and our driver were the BEST. They greeted our group of 4 with smiles and laughs. They took us for breakfast and during the drive, they gave us a history lesson. They took us shopping, we’re again, we learned more history. We stopped at a local fruit stand got fresh juice or fresh fruit cup. They had us dancing and singing in the van. They asked if we were willing to try camel and pigeon and we all agreed and it was a great experience watching our food prepared right in front of us. The driver keep the music playing and got us through crazy traffic. This group knew their places and great food. I would highly recommend and when I return to Egypt, I am calling them up to show us around again.

More Than A Food Tour

We had a great time with Sugar Queen Hala! We were able to make changes to her busy itinerary due to time constraints. Plus her assistant Princess Amira was knowledgeable in hieroglyphics and Egypt's history. And our driver Khaled made sure we got back on time. Not only was the food plentiful, but we left full of knowledge about Egypt as well!!

Plenty of food and activities in between.

Mo was our guide and Haitham was our driver for our food tour today. Friendly, polite and knowledgable guide and safe driver. Excellent local food and drinks with choices of activities in between so you have time to digest one meal before the next one arrives. You can see the pyramids from many roads we travelled on so that’s an extra bonus. Plus a lovely dessert platter as a gift at the end. We were so full we asked for the last meal to be takeaway so we could enjoy it later. It was no problem for Mo. Highly recommend this tour and bring your appetite as there is so much food!
