Great local experience
Eat like a local! Our guide Amira is very experienced and took us to restaurants where Egyptians would definitely eat - breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. The drive through a crowded market where locals would get fresh fruits, veggies and meats gives you a glimpse of what daily life would be if you lived in Giza or Cairo.

in the street of Cairo
The tour consists of several stops characterizing the foods preferred by Egyptians in their daily life. Between the stops, some craft shops are also visited but the sellers are not insisting and offer complimentary beverages so it is not annoying. We kindly skipped the last shop and wanted to visit a supermarket to buy some local products. Overall it was a pleasant tour.

Great tour of Egyptian food and local life!
We had a great time with Muhamad on our food tour. He showed us some foods that typical Egyptian families would eat and gave us an amazing tour that really gave us an idea of typical life in Cairo. We particularly loved that the tour included driving through the bazaar and through the neighborhoods that most tour guides would skip; It really gave a unique perspective on Cairo that I don't think we would have otherwise experienced. The lunch restaurant had a truly amazing view of the pyramids.
Overall, for the price and the experience, this was an excellent way to spend a day in Cairo!

Authentic Cairo food and shopping!
Sugar Queen is amazing. We hit local restaurants, saw parts of Cairo that we would not have ventured to. We’ve been on food tours all over the world, and while the food was unfamiliar, this was probably our favorite.

Great food, Great company!
That was a lot of great food. We had everything soup, main courses, desserts, drinks and a few surprises. The tour had a great balance between delicious foods and "wow factor" foods. The places were very authentic and our star guide - Sugar Queen did a great job explaining the cultural significance of each dish. Great choice all around! Highly recommend!

Full of stomach day
I hit lottery that my guide “sugar queen “ is absolutely delightful!!
Starting the breakfast - to have food 5 different place. So don’t eat too much earlier!!
And visit some random place like papyrus store, perfume, spice, accessory etc. each store worker there explain about the stuff known on Egypt. (Also some of them speak fluent japanese !)
Don’t worry about not buy anything. Sugrequeen control everyone. No need to scared sales lol just enjoy experience!!
Not just fan. Also well organized tour!

Excellent tour!!
Two of us took the Cairo Food Tour today, and Egypt Royal Tours, specifically Sugar Queen Egypt was our guide, and the tour was phenomenal! Sugar Queen was so friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure that there was just the right amount of balance between the food versus the history and origin of the food. We highly recommend this tour, and be sure to ask for Sugar Queen Egypt as your tour guide!

Great and multifaceted experience
Waleed was very friendly and the tour was super a mixture of culture, delicious food, education and seeing a lot of the city. We really enjoyed it to get a very detailed overview of the city and food here. Would recommend it to everyone!

Sugar Queen was awesome! She made the tour special and fun! Sugar Queen even made a special trip so we could try Camel liver and it was good.

Mediocre food in Giza, not Cairo
⸻
The food tour was okay overall. We visited several spots in Giza rather than Cairo, which wasn’t what we expected. The falafels were good, but most of the other dishes were fairly unremarkable. Portions were also extremely large — by the fourth stop we were already completely full.
I was hoping for a tour that showcased the best specialty dishes in Cairo, rather than places chosen mainly for convenience or proximity.
To be fair, the guide did a decent job, but the experience didn’t match what you’d expect from a true local food tour.
Be cautious about the papyrus shop at the end — it’s a tourist trap, and guides reportedly receive a 50–60% commission on whatever you buy there
