  2. Temple of Hatshepsut
    2 hours

Followed by a visit to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut that known as El Dir El Bahari which was built by Queen Hatshepsut the daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately 1490-1469 B.C), the only pharaonic woman who reigned ancient Egypt. Then Continue your day Tour to The Colossi of Memnon which are remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III

  3. Colossi of Memnon
    30 minutes

The Colossi of Memnon (Arabic: el-Colossat or es-Salamat) are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which stand at the front of the ruined Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, the largest temple in the Theban Necropolis. They have stood since 1350 BC, and were well known to ancient Greeks and Romans, as well as early modern travelers and Egyptologists. The statues contain 107 Roman-era inscriptions in Greek and Latin, dated to between AD 20 and 250; many of these inscriptions on the northernmost statue make reference to the Greek mythological king Memnon, whom the statue was then – erroneously – thought to represent. Scholars have debated how the identification of the northern colossus as "Memnon" is connected to the Greek name for the entire Theban Necropolis as the Memnonium.

  4. The Karnak Temple
    1 hour

The Karnak Temple Complex, commonly known as Karnak (/ˈkɑːr.næk/), comprises a vast mix of temples, pylons, chapels, and other buildings near Luxor, Egypt. Construction at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I (reigned 1971–1926 BCE) in the Middle Kingdom (c. 2000–1700 BCE) and continued into the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305–30 BCE), although most of the extant buildings date from the New Kingdom. The area around Karnak was the ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut ("The Most Selected of Places") and the main place of worship of the 18th Dynastic Theban Triad, with the god Amun as its head. It is part of the monumental city of Thebes, and in 1979 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List along with the rest of the city. The Karnak complex gives its name to the nearby, and partly surrounded, modern village of El-Karnak, 2.5 kilometres (1.6 miles) north of Luxor.

  5. Luxor Temple
    1 hour

The Luxor Temple (Arabic: معبد الأقصر) is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was constructed approximately 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language it was known as ipet resyt, "the southern sanctuary". It was one of the two primary temples on the east bank, the other being Karnak.[1] Unlike the other temples in Thebes, Luxor temple is not dedicated to a cult god or a deified version of the pharaoh in death. Instead, Luxor temple is dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship; it may have been where many of the pharaohs of Egypt were crowned in reality or conceptually (as in the case of Alexander the Great, who claimed he was crowned at Luxor but may never have traveled south of Memphis, near modern Cairo). after tour transfer back to your hotel

Excellent Full Day in Lux with Salwa

Had an amazing experience in Luxor with Salwa. She is so knowledgeable that we wish it was recorded. She knows everything about Egypt. Salwa speaks great English which was an added bonus for us bc we asked a lot of questions and she knew the answer immediately.

Perfect day through beautiful Luxor

Salwa was a professional, knowledgable guide. She is a true wealth of information and made the experience personalized and knew the answers to all my questions. The tour was perfectly paced and I was able to see everything I wanted to during my short stay in Luxor. Fantastic!!

Amazing day in Luxor! Coming here and taking this tour with Salwa was everything I was hoping for when I planned to come to Egypt. Informative and educational, I had fun seeing the sights and learning not only from the rich culture of ancient Egypt but customs in today’s modern lifestyle translated by Salwa into one great morning and afternoon. Truly and experience I’ll share and cherish.

Exceptional Tour

This tour was exceptional! My guide Salwa is a decorated Egyptologist - and so her knowledge was incredible! She took me to all the sites and explained how each place fit into history. She also pointed out interesting details about each place that I would never have noticed - and showed me excellent vistas for photographs. Salwa is a local - having grown up in the area - so she was able to add really indepth insights to the progress of the archaeological ventures as well as well as the local culture. The sites are amazing! And I wouldn't recommend without a guide. Salwa knew how to navigate all the ticketing, where to go for each site as well as stopped along the way to point out interesting local historical places. She was also wonderfully protective - and wouldn't let me be taken advantage of by any of the vendors at the sites. It was a truly memorable experience.

Great tour

Wonderful trip with Selwa as our guide and Egyptologist! We are a couple traveling on our honeymoon. Selwa was perfectly knowledge about the sights and offered great insight on local culture and traditions in addition to the ancient Egyptian story. Always on time and lunch was delicious! Very safe and very fun! When you book, ask of Selwa...she’s the best!

Solo female traveller

Had a great experience booking with Emo tours. Booked online at short notice, called at 6am on the day to confirm it was still happening and the person was very polite confirming how the tour guide would pick me up etc. Met my guide Salwa in the lobby at 7am and got whisked away on a comprehensive and comfortable private tour. She was very considerate and answered all my questions. Highly recommended! Never felt unsafe or compromised at any point.

Won't regret visiting

As far back as I can remember I've wanted to visit Luxor, the east and west banks. This week my dream finally came true. Salwa (emo tours) was our guide. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with filling in the background history before getting to the sites. This helped put everything in context and we were able to enjoy the sites more. She was also very helpful getting us in and out of the ancient sites. If you can I would try to ask for her. If you plan on visiting Egypt, Luxor and Aswan is a must after the great pyramids.

Great day tour in Luxor!

Salwa showed up on time to our hotel and patiently awaited for us to finish our breakfast before heading out. She was great at explaining all the historic details of the statues and temples and we felt like we learned so much about each place that we visited. She was also wonderful in taking pictures of us when there were no other tourists around, so that was very much appreciated. She gave us time to explore each site on our own and we really liked having the free time at each site.
