Join us on this tour if you're looking for authentic, home-cooked and street Egyptian food in two different neighborhoods in Cairo. The first area is West Elbalad,downtown Cairo where will be meeting and kicking off with some national drinks. A sense of home-cooked food prepared like Egyptian grandmothers used to cook everyday is so nice. The second area is the iconic of the local Cairo where you can explorer Cairo off beaten pavement, the real lives of people, tuk tuks and the local markets. A sandwich of taameya like typical Cairenes use instead of falafel and a plate of Koshary are authentic experiences between locals! 6+ stops will let your belly dance with the Egyptian food. There is no waste food on our journey, so if you can't finish your portion, vou can take the leftovers or leave it simply to any person in need on the streets. Can't wait and YALLA BINA!

Food tour in Cairo
Ahmed and Shorouk gave us an excellent food sampling tour while taking g good care of our dietary needs. Highly recommend this tour to get a feel for the street life in Cairo away from the normal tourist spots.

The best experience in Egypt!
Wow, where do I even begin? This is by far the best food tour we've been on across the globe! This was more than just a food tour, it was genuinely such a wholesome experience. Meeting the family was so lovely, learning about them and local culture. Their little one gave us great company for the first part of the experience. Ahmed is super accommodating, and on the spot thought of great alternative options for us, as we didn't communicate our dietary requirements in advance. He took us to amazing food spots, and we learnt so much about Egyptian food and culture whilst tasting the iconic foods and drinks. Beyond that, we connected so well as if we've known each other for years! It was such a pleasure to start the first day of our Egypt trip with him. He set the bar so high, that every other tour guide we had to visit the temples felt soulless! He was also very caring to help us get a taxi back home safely. Highly recommend this, and if you have time, their cooking class too!!!

Local family run tour, no scams, friendly and fun experience 100% recommend
Best experience in Cairo. Run by an actual local family just out of passion, not a tour company, very genuine and no scams. Highly recommend trying it. Good sampling of many local dishes in restaurants you would never find or go to as a tourist. Great time!

A must do to start off your Egypt trip
Ahmed was so knowledgeable, kind, witty and most of all made this whole tour ‘one of a kind’ of experience that was not expected! He carefully curated the restaurants we went to, only picking the most local and authentic places where everyday Egyptians ate and which we could’ve never visited/discovered on our own. He also did a good job explaining the cultural and historical context of the areas we visited. In a span of 3 hours, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes that are commonly had by the local people. I’m now confident to explore Cairo through the eyes of a local rather than a tourist. 10/10 recommendations and brilliant attitude. You won’t regret this experience! Come hungry, cause there’ll be a LOT of food!

BEST experience in Cairo
Ahmed is incredibly welcoming and warm. A proud Egyptian, he deeply values his culture and heritage and makes you feel genuinely part of it. The tour is thoughtfully curated, wonderfully varied, and—of course—delicious. You meet local people and gain real insight into how they socialise and live in this nonstop city. If you want to immerse yourself in the real Cairo, I couldn’t recommend this experience more highly.

Great guide and food!
We had a really great time on this food tour and the guide was very informative. He taught us a lot about egypt in general and about the food and culture. Food was great we went back to one place We did not get sick!

Great walking food tour with Shorouk
This was amazing. My wife and I had such a wonderful time with Shorouk. Shorouk took us to many places to try the local food and we could not have been in better hands. We also asked a lot of questions about culture and life in Egypt and she was more than happy to answer them all. Would recommend this to anyone that would like to learn more from a local.
